BIC Africa participated in the EU-Africa Business Forum

BIC Africa took part in the 7th edition of the EU-Africa Business Forum (EABF) held from 14th to 18th of February 2022.

BIC Africa took part in the 7th edition of the EU-Africa Business Forum (EABF) held from 14th to 18th of February 2022. BIC Africa, in partnership with AeTrade Group, participated in two high-level online panels. On the 16th of February, EBN’s CEO Laura Lecci participated in the Building Bridges Through Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship panel, where she shared how EBN works towards supporting businesses grow, and in particular the BIC Africa project as a pillar to support youth and women entrepreneurs by strengthening business incubators in Africa.

On the 17th of February, BIC Africa Team leader Robert Sanders joined Jutta Urpilainen, EU Commissioner for International Partnerships and H.E. Prof. Mohammed Belhocine AU Commissioner for ESTI for the Bridging the Finance, Investment and Skill Gaps and Developing Youth Entrepreneurship panel covering support and opportunities available for African MSMEs in the post-COVID recovery, and how to make economic growth inclusive for youth.

Co-organised by the European Union (EU) and the African Union Commission (AUC), the 7th edition of EABF is a strategic occasion for EU and African private sectors to identify and/or consolidate joint opportunities in the spirit of the comprehensive strategy with Africa and the Africa-Europe alliance for sustainable investment and jobs.

This edition featured a total of 32 high-level panels, 157 online workshops and showcases, 181 online exhibitors as well as more than 20 signatures and announcements for a total commitment of 590 million EUR. Over 18,000 people registered to watch more than 200 hours of meetings on the online platform. BIC Africa was an official partner of the forum and many participants joined us at the BIC Africa online booth.
