On the 24th of March, the BIC Africa Online Acceleration Programme for Women Entrepreneurs from Tanzania has kicked off, welcoming 27 outstanding women entrepreneurs across from Tanzania selected from 86 applications. This cohort represents a vibrant cross‑section of Tanzania’s entrepreneurial landscape, with participants leading startups and businesses across key sectors, including Agriculture, Food, Services, Manufacturing, Creative Industry, Digital, Technology, Health, Education and other sectors.
Over the next two weeks, the entrepreneurs will take part in an intensive online programme featuring three sessions per week, each lasting two hours. The programme is tailored to strengthen core business competencies and enhance investment readiness, with sessions covering the topics of business planning and development, financial planning and management, access to finance, investment readiness and coaching sessions on Leadership and Storytelling & the art of the pitching.
This programme will strengthen the women’s business leadership capacity and enable them to lead their startups and business to scale sustainably. This ripple effect not only uplifts these women-owned or led businesses but also empowers communities, advancing gender equity and economic inclusion across the region.
In addition, participants will have the opportunity to connect with fellow women entrepreneurs for peer‑to‑peer learning and increased visibility. They will also gain access to sector‑specific, local, and international experts, as well as broader professional networks. By joining a vibrant community of women entrepreneurs, they can learn, exchange, and build meaningful connections. The programme further enables participants to engage with BIC Africa and the European Business Innovation Centre Network (EBN), strengthening their pathways to growth and amplifying the impact of women‑led businesses.

This edition is led by a team of three women expert trainers from Africa and Europe, including members of the EU|BIC community. Their combined experience brings both global perspective and local relevance, offering participants practical guidance tailored to the realities and opportunities facing women entrepreneurs in Tanzania. By bridging expertise from two continents, the trainers serve not only as coaches but also as role models demonstrating what becomes possible when knowledge, resilience, and ambition come together.
We congratulate the 27 outstanding entrepreneurs selected for this edition and we look forward to witnessing your growth and success. We also thank all those who have submitted their application for this cohort.
The programme is funded by the European Union and implemented by EBN, reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting women‑led entrepreneurship and strengthening innovation ecosystems across Africa.
